Rewatch - The Avengers

Brad and Paula experienced a real wash out in Stratford yesterday. The regular tour buses were like submarines, and that's just downstairs!
Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. I bet that means something. It sounds great.

I saw the photo, but didn't realise it was that bad.

Steed is slightly less cuddly at this point of the show's history...

Oh don't. You should read the abusive hate aimed at Big Finish online over their Avengers audios, based on series one, because they have portrayed the earlier interpretation of Steed rather than the jolly gentleman of the Emma Peel episodes.

I don't mind either version.

Like Avon, the character developed between extremes. Whatever your preference, you still have to accept that both interpretations are valid. Some seem to think they can choose which one is right! Grin

It really heavy rain and mini-flash floods all day.

We're meeting tomorrow for the Imperial War Museum, possibly followed by the London Transport Museum.

Cathy Gale is quite ahead of her time... this season was 1963-64, so it would be like having the action hero in Doctor Who at the time (Ian) cast as a female character.

I suspect Sara was, in part, inspired by Cathy Gale.

As brilliant as Patrick Macnee is, the stars of the Avengers were always Honor Blackman and Diana Rigg to me!!!

They were certainly the key to the show's success and longevity.

Brilliant close up scene performed by Blackman and Le Mesurier as he inspects her eye, with the line about injuries sounding like both a medical comment and a potential threat!
