Travisina - I am glad your library does the "determined search" too! It is definitely a library thing: we will not be beaten when it comes to tracking down a missing book!

Elizabeth of York, the First Tudor Queen by Alison Weir.

That's so weird. That book came into my hands ( I work in a library so maybe not SO weird) only this week and I had a look thinking I must give it a try. I have read quite a few of her non fic stuff and that is really bringing history alive writing.

I've recently re-watched "The Shadow of the Tower", the 1970s BBC Costume drama which covers the reign of Henry VII (1485 - 1509). Some good actors pop up in it. Philip Maxwell who played Henry VII also appeared in Doctor Who "Underworld" as Captain Jackson.

How I love Terry Pratchett and what a great loss he is. One of the few writers who can make me laugh out loud when reading his books...although I once read the opening line of Iain Banks' The Crow Road in a book shop and laughed so loud everyone stopped and looked....

Just finished my latest re-read of Watership Down. I cry at the end everytime (cos I am a soppy sod) but it is a fantastic book. It changed my outlook on so many things. A masterpiece.
