Jacqueline Pearce... back at Big Finish

I didn't realise that (about general release as opposed to BF direct sales). However, as a matter of principle, *all* the reviews I post on Horizon are spoiler-free.

Big Finish are progressively putting one or even two month delays on general release of almost all their products, which is why I'm behind everyone else on the War Doctor stories. The harder BF try to encourage me to buy direct and turn my back on independent specialist retailers the harder I'll resist them and stay loyal to the shops!
Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. I bet that means something. It sounds great.

You've got shops? Independent specialist retailers that sell CDs? Wow!
We have one second hand Games store, a tiny branch of Waterstones (it sells stationery, some of it is given over to a coffee & cake area, and if you actually want a book that isn't a new bestseller they order it in for you) and the non-food section of Sainsburys. And lots & lots of charity shops. And coffee emporia. Welcome to small town high street, UK.

Left with no choice, Hubby and I now buy nearly everything via the internet, so in a toss up between Amazon and Big Finish direct, I know who I'd rather support Wink

Not locally, but I do visit in person and mail order from both Galaxy Four and Forbidden Planet; I used to support Burton's Books in St. Leonards (it sounds like a general bookstore but was actually a specialist Dr Who store) and Thunderbooks in Blackpool, and also in the past bought from The Who Shop and Forbidden Planet International.

Good for you supporting the independent book trade. I am very grateful that, here in Australia, the independents are still very strong. Very unusual these days.

Happy memories! When I lived in Manchester, we'd go on days out to Blackpool, and Thunderbooks was always our first port of call. Smile

Do you remember when it was called Engale Marketing before the Thunderbooks rebranding?

Came home to find my copy of "Call Me Jacks" delivered in the post today. March Vortex included - which features an interview with JP. A fun read! Looking forward to listening to the CD over the long weekend and love that it's signed. A good way to start the holiday! Grin

I've been listening to this while driving and it is wonderful. Grin

Inevitably it covers similar ground to the audiobook of her autobiography but here the discussion is more informal and (as the champagne flows) more fun. Smile

The opening to disc two is particularly raucous especially when she tells her one Blake's 7 anecdote. Grin

Highly recommended but one for the more broadminded listener only. Smile
