Just think, prior to 1992, we wouldn't have had a single story to rewatch from this episode. Now thanks to rediscoveries, plus the animation of Ice Warriors 2 &3, we have four!!!

It's interesting that you mention1992, because I didn't buy my first copy of Doctor Who magazine and step into fandom until 1993 and so never experienced this story being missing and recovered.
Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. I bet that means something. It sounds great.

Have you seen the recovered films from Fury From the Deep? The weed creature was a little bit... erm, ambitious? Grin

Certain stories benefit from being missing. "Galaxy Four" went from alien and creepy to a bit absurd after someone went and recovered Episode 3 Shock

But for me, "Power" is an all-time classic. The characters and dialogue are massively strong, plus it didn't suffer from an army of toy Daleks, like "Evil" did. Wink

Speaking of season 5 I got into Doctor Who when my father gave me a copy of the Web of Fear novelisation. I still have that beat up copy, even got Hines to sign it back in 1999.

Ah... good old Galaxy 4... probably the story that was a bit cheaper than the rest to compensate for Richard Martin spending all the money on The Web Planet!!

George Pastell and Cyril Shaps turned up in loads of cult tv shows of the time, always playing the same instantly recognisable character types.

Can you imagine Kleig and Viner settling down to sleep without arguing and shouting for hours? I can't! Don't forget that Hopper has been stuck with them for weeks already and would have taken any excuse to get rid of them for a while.

The Tomb discovery was big news. I think the video release was the first time Doctor Who went to No 1.
