No I don't think he would do it and he was terrified because of this because then Servalan would know he was weak... or rather human. What do you think?

I don't know. I'm a Vila fan, and find it very difficult to get inside Avon's head.

I think he was bluffing. In my mind, there is no way Avon would carry out that threat he isn't the cold blooded killer he pretends to be. He kills people who threaten him that's all

I agree that he was probably bluffing - he's not a mass murderer. But he is - or rather, becomes - a cold blooded killer of individuals, eg Dr Plaxton. It's not so much the inevitability of her death (she was dead either way) but his reaction 'Who?' afterwards that's so chilling. And that's why Vila hides in 'Orbit' - he knows that when it comes to Avon's own survival, he wouldn't hesitate to kill even a close friend. But back on topic - he probably wouldn't use the Armageddon device. Probably.

There's no point being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes

I don't think Avon would use an Armageddon device.

However, he might sell it, if offered enough money Wink

I doubt Avon would use it, but in his hands (as opposed to anyone else's), he could make a good bluff of it.

Avon keeps his word! He'd use it if he had to. He'd do the math first. If deploying it stops the Federation from using it indiscrimately to quash rebellions, then using it once against Earth would be statistically justified. Wipe out the Federation and you destroy the threat. ( though it doesn't explain why he didn't go for that option when faced with pylene 50. I guess Grant stole the blueprints or Cally used them to write down her thoughts about the loss of Auron and threw them into the recycler by mistake.
Just because I can't sing doesn't mean I won't.

I'd go along with that Grin (at least the theory I mean!)

I think Cav Scott did mention at the Big Finish Day earlier in the year that they realised they needed to take the Armageddon Storm off Avon before the end of the fourth season, at which point he probably would use it! Grin

Yes, I think it's safe to say that Avon doesn't have this option by the time the final season comes along!

Otherwise why would he show any interest at all in the Tachyon Funnel?

Not sure about the statement “Avon keeps his word!”, though. Depends very much on the circumstances and also his mood. Yes, he keeps his word sometimes e.g. with Nebrox, but there are also cases of the opposite, for instance Keiller (who he double-crosses and could have saved with a little effort). Avon is complex and unpredictable.

Well I do hope we get the Cally throws them in the recycler or Vila uses them to sop up red wine story line at some point, TT , and I do agree with you about Avon's word!
