She was the secretary of a top notch scientist. It's possible she had some sort of scientific background to pick up that job.

Listened to The Daleks' Master Plan (including Mission), Power and Evil over the last couple of weeks.

All are terrific stories, in particular Power is an all-time classic, with plenty of good characters, and the Daleks at their most cunning and devious. "I Am Your Servant!!"

Those three Dalek stories are my top 3 too but in a slightly different order to yours. The Daleks exuded menace in the 60s

I'd say Master-Plan is the greatest Dalek story ever.

That's a fair comment; 60s Dalek-mania embraced by the television show, with an epic scale unmatched by any other Dalek story old or new imo.
Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. I bet that means something. It sounds great.

I think my top 3 Dalek stories are:
1. Genesis
2. Remembrance
3. Power

"Dalek" is pretty cool as well, rebooting just how powerful and terrifying one Dalek can be, as well as giving Rose some of her finest moments, as she sides with the Dalek against a "monostrous" Doctor. The moment the new series realy proved just how good it could be.

I love Master Plan too. Couldn't get away with it today but back then it worked and I love listening to the audio. Kevin Stoney is excellent. (as always)

Number 2 Dalek story on my list

I preferred the hands of The Tenth Planet to the claws here. The hands were a stark reminder of the human inhumanity of them.

I had never really noticed that before but yes they don't do anything unless required. That definitely has a certain creepiness to it

My top three surviving Dalek stories are:

1. The Daleks
2. Genesis of the Daleks
3. Asylum of the Daleks

Masterplan would be right up there if we had say 8 or 9 episodes instead of three, and Dalek was definitely an excellent drama.

Considering how powerful and effective the Gravitron if deployed as a weapon, it's existence is actually quite implausible. But it works well as a fantasy concept.
