Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. I bet that means something. It sounds great.

Episode 6 is really strong because, unlike the normal Doctor Who trope, the Doctor is unable to save his friends or even the world itself; he has to flee and leave all the protagonists to die. Almost proto-Blake's 7 in showing something really negative and desperate happening to identification characters.

Yes, things get gloomy in Episode 5 and really gloomy in Episode 6. I like it!!!

This is our first ever visit to a parallel earth, isn't it? Happens so rarely in DW.

Apart from the one you mentioned earlier, trying to think of other instances. And still thinking....

The cast is so strong in this - it really is.

And now a direct parallel to Episode 3, with the first Primord... is it happening all over again?

It's worth pointing out this is also the closest that DW ever came to total cancellation. Season 8 only happened because Letts/Dicks couldn't think of an alternative to suggest to BBC bosses, who wanted it wrapped up.

Inferno was almost the final story.

Just looked this up; the only two times we visit a parallel Earth are Inferno and Rise of the Cybermen, but there is reference to another in Battlefield because allegedly that's where Morgane and the Knights are from and where the Doctor was Merlin.

Ah cool, but is Battlefield another universe, or simply another time and place in ours?

Indeed; but what a great final story it would have been.

I like the anatongstic relationship between the Doctor and the Brigadier in this season.

Alternate universe, because the locations were familiar to the Knights.

So do I, but also like the fact that we later see character development as they get used to each other and become closer friends.
