Steed and Purdey work well bouncing off each other... they show here there's little point in having Gambit around..

The ambiguity of the relationship between them is interesting, and my take is that it was only on Purdey's side.
Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. I bet that means something. It sounds great.

Gambit seems to have pulled.... at least he's no longer bothering Purdey.

Is this an example to set the boys?
They have to learn sometime, but it's not what you think... yet!

Don't know if you read my post earlier, but the doctor was played by Michael Turner who was Jarvis in The Wheel in Space.

Gambit is more corny than ever Grin Grin

This is a good Mike episode, and it's nice to see him partnered with someone other than Purdey.

Still don't understand why you and Paula don't like Gambit; he's Mum's favourite Avengers character, and I think it's a good performance too.

He does some good research work. Shame his chat up lines are so awful!

Oh my, Crayford is now after Purdey...

trevor travis
Mark Crayford is such a bitter man.... he's a bit like Travis, completely consumed about another person.

Curiously, Purdey doesn't get to fight the villain or play any direct role in the ending beyond being the distressed damsel that Steed's trying to rescue. Even more curiously, the final scene goes on for a while after they're all safe with Steed and Gambit making no effort to release her from the wall; the episode ends and they still haven't taken her down!

The similarity between the location here and Quex Park was a point of interest too!

I was just thinking that! A folly, but a slightly different one!

Haha, I wonder how long they left her there Grin

Unusual ending - Purdey is tied up, Gambit is too late, and Steed only wins because of a shot from ten years earlier.

Good rewatch (a triple rewatch for me) tonight, and I'm glad you fixed your dvd issues in the end! Goodnight.

Excellent episode - maybe the best New Avengers episode.

Thanks for joining in SD, when I eventually got the DVD playing.
