A thread about Avon's trousers you say? I'm so here for it! LMAO.Wink

Always thought he looked best in red leather and any black outfit.

Am interesting thing about those black trousers. They have a side fastening and they have 'hoops', rather like ski pants, that go under the foot so they don't ride up. Somewhere there is a piccie of Anniew closely inspecting those trousers whilst our victim was wearing them.3
BTW, all those leather outfits are really nice and soft to touch...just in case I have never, ever mentioned it. Grin

I'll take your word for it, Sue.WinkGrin

You'd better. Sue has been reliving feeling Avon's ....outfits for many years. I think she may dream about them but whatever else goes on in those dreams...we won't ask. Grin

WinkLOL. I bow to her knowledge of leather and of Avon's trousers.

How many female Avon fans have wondered about the contents of Avon's trousers over the past 40 years?

I wish to point out that all this started while I was attending Smallspace 2013 in Hanslope.
PC and I were innocently admiring Mr Darrow's costumes (and how nice and soft they were) when Gary, the Keeper of the costumes, showed us the trousers in question. 'Look' he said, 'these do up at the side.'
The next moment, Andy H, stepped forward and said he would try them on, plus one of the tops.
Andy emerged from the Gentlemen's loo with said trousers (and his boots on) plus the costume which he couldn't do up as it was a bit fiddly.
Pc and I, seeing this poor chap in distress, stepped forward and assisted Andy by doing up all the press studs and velcro from Avon's top in Redemption.
Then we helped with all the others.
The top seen in Rumours was very awkward...hooks and eyes all the way up the front!
Then Dr Who (David Tennant's version) stepped into the fray.
Mat Irvine rushed in, got his camera and the Libby Gun and Teleport Bracelet...and filmed the duel between a sonic screwdriver and a Liberator Hand Gun!

All this for just £5 entrance fee..and we got to see the Daleks knocking on people's doors and then trundling off towards Hanslope Church!
That was a Sunday to remember!!!
Cold.....you don't know the meaning of cold.
Cold is when you have ice on the INSIDE of the window!!!

Glad to see that Hermit is still going for the time being. Love all of Avon's costumes, even the bug suit! Thanks TT Grin

I'm with you on the bug suit meegat. Paul wears it so well. Some people are just like that. They'd look good in a potato sack. Paul's Avon would probably have looked like a highly sophisticated Fred Flintstone, if that's not an oxymoron.

I'm always looking for a benign way to swear (I'm a potty mouth) and had thought Brian Blessed's 'God's Teeth' was a good substitute but now I think I'll have to use 'Avon's trousers' as a swear word. Or 'Avon's lobster trousers'! LOL

I’m very potty-mouthed too! My personal favourites are:

Holy... (mother, Moley, mackerel, macaroni... the second word is not as important as the over-emphasis on the first syllable of Holy)

Foof

Flip me!!

I’ll try “Avon’s Trousers” sometime and report back how it went. If we’re looking for B7 themed non-sweary exclamations, can I suggest “Blake’s Sleeves”?

Late to the discussion (as always).

As someone who is fascinated by the profanities of different languages, Avon's Trews could be about to join the collection.
