Sue LOL. Though 50 shades was a step too far for me so I ignored the whole shebang- book and film!

Actually, I, too, didn't bother.
Someone lent me the book and was raving over it. I started to read it to find out just what all the fuss was about. The first chapter was dire, badly written, just awful.
Friend said miss out those boring chapters and go to (whatever it was!) and after one paragraph, if that, I gave it back to her.
She seemed quite surprised that I thought it utter rubbish.
But as Hubby has pointed out, the author is now a millionaire!!!!

Writer Tony Lee told us at TARDIS con that Fifty Shades of Grey was once just a piece of Twilight fan fiction which was hastily changed at the last moment and sold. I too, decline reading it.

The feeling is mutual. For any gaming fans out there, there is a video on YouTube featuring Jon St John (the voice of Duke Nukem) reading out an extract from that accursed "book" in the Duke voice.

Yes, that's right.
It started out as a Twilight Saga Fan fiction on line.

I couldn't stand Twilight so perhaps that's why the premise of 50 shades struck me as a crashing bore.

Well here's a list of Avon's costumes, but not many of his trousers on display in the accompanying photos:

Glad to see that Hermit is still going for the time being. Love all of Avon's costumes, even the bug suit! Thanks TT Grin

Thanks Little Sue for that link. Lovely, except for the Plummer outfit and baco foil wrap. Season 3 grey is my favourite followed by leather and studs and season 4 Assassin .

Here are PC and me with a 'victim', who we managed to convince to try the costumes on, during Smallspace 2013.
This is one of my fave costumes.
i425.photobucket.com/albums/pp337/smallwondersue/Smallspace%202013/pcmeandAvon_zpsc5776ff9.jpg

The 'victim' was persuaded to try several costumes on and Mr Irvive even supplied the gun and bracelet.
And PC and I can confirm that these costumes are really quite fiddly, what with hook, eyes, velcro and they require a great deal of smoothing down...............................

Am interesting thing about those black trousers. They have a side fastening and they have 'hoops', rather like ski pants, that go under the foot so they don't ride up. Somewhere there is a piccie of Anniew closely inspecting those trousers whilst our victim was wearing them.3
BTW, all those leather outfits are really nice and soft to touch...just in case I have never, ever mentioned it. Grin

You'd better. Sue has been reliving feeling Avon's ....outfits for many years. I think she may dream about them but whatever else goes on in those dreams...we won't ask. Grin

I have a question, which I rather blush to ask...

A side fastening on menís trousers? Am I missing something or this a bit... impractical... in certain respects?

Fashionable, and I think you will find it on some (mostly period) uniforms where a smooth front is desired, but yes, impractical.

US Navy Seaman's dress blue uniforms have (or had, not sure if still in use) buttons at each hip, but no fly.

So do I have to find a US Navy Seaman and ask him?? (Blushing even more now)
