Avon's trousers

It's great to acknowledge the great performances turned in by Avon's trousers, but let us not forget to thank those who don't get credit for making Avon's trousers look good in all those action scenes.

Yes, I'm talking about Avon's Stunt Trousers.

According to Paul Darrow he did all his own stunts. Unless you were talking about a different sort of stunt WITHIN the trousers! Grin

In light of the new information about different episodes and different trousers, here are my revised choices:
1 Avon in pressure point in the RED trousers
2 Avon in Dawn of the Gods in the RED trousers and the black turtleneck
3 Avon in Voice from the past in the BLACK trousers and the black martial arts shift
4 Avon in Spacefall in the flarey grey trousers
5 Avon ahhhhhh did I mention I've been drinking wine?? Grin

Well, Paul did all his stunts, but did his trousers? Or to make sure his trousers were not damaged, did he change into a pair of stunt trousers for them?

There's a scene in a Doctor Who story called "Love & Monsters" where Jackie Tyler (Rose's mum) deliberately spills wine down a character played by Marc Warren to get his kit off.

What if the scene was our Meegat and Avon? "Oh Avon, I've er... 'accidentally' spilt wine all over your trousers, you'll have to take them off" Grin

As for Soolin's trousers, is there any difference. I thought she wore the same all in one jumpsuit for the entire season?? Guess I wasn't focusing on her bum like some people!!]

No it's definitely two different jumpsuits - one from "Rescue" to "Headhunter" and a different one from "Assassin" through to "Blake".

Plus she wears different gear briefly in "Gold" and "Warlord".

I was born at the wrong time into the wrong universe! Sigh.

Will I get shown the door if I mention Tarrant's trousers and little briefs under them from Harvest of Kairos? Granted, I'd rather look at Jarvik, but whoa!

Not by me Grin Though I wouldn't look elsewhere...but hey that's me Grin Grin

I'm afraid I got as far as-

"Avon...mmm...trousers...yeah..."

- then Horizon-acceptable thoughts were no more.

If I had to be pinned down (by the man himself preferably) I'd go with the red leather/black jumper because they revealed what was usually hidden under longer tunics etc. S4 black jumpsuit would also have to be a contender (looooong zip) as well as some rather soft and silky looking grey trousers, but I can't remember which ep they were in.

You know, you really shouldn't use expressions like 'torn it' on a thread about Avon's trousers!

Shatner managed to get his shirt torn in every other Star Trek episode. Now just imagine ... Pfft

And Kirk also had a thing for green alien women, but you are correct- was it in Shatner's contract to continually have his shirt torn to shreds?? LOL

This was gloriously referenced in the movie 'Galaxy Quest' Smile

Having now calmed down after laughing my head off while reading this thread, I'd like to comment that I like that rather nice computer expert in his black trousers with the nice flowing blackshirt, (which is assumed to be on loan from Mr Mellanby), in Aftermath.
My fave variation on a theme is the outfit from Rumours.
An interesting sideline with regards to the black trousers, PC and I examined this particular item at SmallSpace. It was interesting to note that they were side fastening and had 'stirrups' to go under Mr D's feet, hence keeping them nice and straight when his boots went on.
And no, there wasn't anyone in the trousers when we did this examination.
There was a little later on and PC and I had to help with hooks and eyes; Velco and all sorts of fastenings...and smooth down the leather...and make sure everyting was just so....

Yup, that's why it's my avatar! Wink Avon in his flowing black shirt! Insert Homer drool! Much like PC, I can't add anything further to that without breaching Horizon rules!Grin

If I'm honest I'd like Avon in a sack, though I prefer him in something a little more tailored to his physique.
