There you go Grin

The commonly known 'fact' that Daleks can't climb stairs was only a popular myth written in newspapers by mundanes who weren't actually paying attention. The Daleks never had the limitation after the first story, when they needed continuous contact with the floor for electric supply; it was only ever an RL effects limitation!

Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. I bet that means something. It sounds great.

Episode 4

Apparently the confusion of what's going on in this episode is because the episode was written by Dennis Spooner and Richard Martin to fill a gap in the story; quite simply, they got confused themselves and there wasn't time to sort out what the setting actually was! It was Spooner's idea to sidestep the chase and go outside of reality as would later be seen in stories like The Celestial Toymaker, The Mind Robber and Amy's Choice; the problem then is, how do you explain the Dalek ship able to follow the Tardis there? So they reverted the story to a 'real' setting but kept the alternate dimension plot.

The idea of the Dr Who/Hammer crossover appeals to me, and I like the style of it, but other stories later did it better.

Episode 5

Mechanus is a great planet, even if it does look like a studio floor! But the original broadcast standard wouldn't have shown that up, so it's understandable that they didn't worry to much about that. Not a lot happens, but the atmosphere is good.

Episode 6

The last episode is one of my favourite episodes of the season. The model of the city, the Mechanoids, the battle with the Daleks, the introduction of Steven, and most of all the deeply emotional final sequence as the Doctor loses those who he has become so close to and especially so since the departure of Susan; in the days before the Ship was fixed, becoming separated from someone was final, and the cast portrayed this really well.

Looking forward to Billy's best-ever Billyfluff:
"You'll end up as a couple of burnt cinders flying around in Spain - in space!"

But yes, the Chase Part Six is very poignant, and there's also the wonderful moment of the Doctor & Vicki watching Ian & Babs back home, and the photo montage of them around Trafalgar Square.

I think I prefer when a departure from the TARDIS really meant a departure from the TARDIS. My celebreations at the end of "Dragonfire" would be somewhat muted, if I knew the most evil creature in time & space was coming back the next season. Shock Grin

"Daleks don't like stairs"

Ian is misguided here - they can already float, but we're simply not shown it.
