Down & Safe Podcast

Don't get me wrong - it's not that I didn't like 'Wife & Blake' - although at times her continuous apparent dislike of the series became wearisome, it did generate plenty of debate (which is a good thing) as well as a whole load of protest re-watches (which was a very good thing). It's just that I'm enjoying 'Down & Safe' so much more Pfft

I had a chance to listen to the Space Cabbage episode. I do like the fact that they seem to be having fun with both watching B7 and making the podcasts. Now I want a decima action figure Cool

In listening to these podcasts I'm finding that the volume is strangely low; my mp3 player has to be at absolute max volume for me to hear them & even then if - say- a car goes by, it drowns out & have to rewind.
Is anyone else finding any volume issues for Down&Safe podcasts?
Might just be my mp3 player, although all other downloaded mp3s don't have this issue - volume is full & fine.

Ela
No, but I haven't actually listened on my mp3 player. I listened on my computer, and it was more than loud enough.

Travisina
Me too - I listened on my computer, and the volume was fine. I haven't actually got a dedicated MP3 player as such, but will see what it sounds like on my phone.

Ellen, I've made a paper mâché model Of a Decima recently. I will bring it to Gauda Prime if you like. It isn't great but hey! I'd post a picture if I knew how to - but I don't!
Just because I can't sing doesn't mean I won't.

I do remember having to whack the volume up to the max on my ipod when listening outside. My phone is louder and I haven't noticed a problem listening on that.

Comparing the podcast to various others podcasts I think "Down and Unsafe" is definitely a bit quieter than average. Not the worst I've heard, but it is detectable.

So maybe this is due to an unfortunate interaction between a slightly quieter than average American podcast and a European mp3 player rigidly adhering to EU rules on volume?

Heard the first episode and loved it! And being a guy that likes women.... that one guy with the radio voice I could listen to for hours!

I'd love to see your model Decima. If he comes to RTGP3, he can play with baby Og Cool Pfft

My understanding is that photos need to be posted using a photobucket account (or the equivalent). There are probably directions in the technical section, or maybe someone more tech-savvy can explain it. I was thrilled to just get my profile pic uploaded.

One thing I wanted to mention after hearing the first two episodes is, they better be careful with the very casual, but light spoilers. The one lady who hasn't seen the show seems to be very sharp and she will pick up on things.

I stayed up way past my bedtime last night listening to the latest podcast - Seek-Locate-Destroy, or as they called it,
Buzzy the Robot That Tried
(Someone needs to tell them that the correct word is Hugbot Oops)

It was another mix of hilarity, respect and disrespect and interesting analysis - although slightly let down by their mispronouncing Stephen Greif's surname - it rhymes with knife, not with leaf.

I love Amal in Canada (the lady who hasn't seen the show) - her exuberance and infectious enthusiasm are a joy to listen to, while Scott in Wisconsin has a gorgeous voice and makes very interesting points. And I'm glad they didn't edit out the last few minutes, when the podcast veered gloriously off topic with discussions about moose, coyotes and other wildlife. Bonkers, but hugely enjoyable!

Scotts voice reminds me of Fran listening to that guy do boring shipping updates in Black Books. A great voice indeed.

Having only listened to the first two episodes I really need them to say Vila correctly. It's not VEEEELA! I'll get over it as long as the don't say Sevalan like that lady in Servalan in IMAX

Amal is great and I get a sense they all like the show, but can have fun with it.

And yeah its totally a Hugbot! Oops

Again with the light spoilers! Stop doing that to Amal!

Yup now I'm fully caught up.

I just finished listening to the latest episode and nearly fell out of my chair laughing. They did say that the security robot looked hugable Oops

Just had a thought about their comment about breaking teleport bracelets. If I remember correctly, a few custom props were made for the cast - Jan Chappell had a padded bracelet made because her wrists were so thin that they kept falling off (there's at least one episode where she's wearing it halfway up her arm) and Paul Darrow had a custom gun made with a metal rod in it because he kept breaking them.

Latest Podcast - Mission to Destiny.

Or as Scott in Wisconsin sums it up:
The episode where the crew go into the holodeck so that Avon can pretend to be Sherlock Holmes...
Still LOL-ing Grin

I found them to be a bit harsh on it, but not in a bad way. This was a lot of fun.

Hurry up with the Duel episode already!

It should be out today - I really look forward to these every 2nd Thursday!
As for MtoD - yes, they were a bit harsher than usual, as well as picking up on all the things we always mention - like why didn't Blake check the box to see if the Neutrotope was in there before setting off, etc. But there is still love for the series and characters (this time it was about 'Jenna's perfect face' and Cally's outfit).
