I like how Travis begins the story, and we segue to Blake finishing it.

We think we're getting back story, and we are, but we're also getting foreshadowing.

Brilliant.

In terms of script, plotting etc this episode is faultless, imo

The cast on commentary are remembering the polystyrene cups wrapped in tin foil; something you could miss just watching it, but they had to pick them up convincingly!
Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. I bet that means something. It sounds great.

To me he sounds a bit fed up with Blake barking orders at him (who wouldn't?)

We do location shooting at a gas plant, and the telecine of the planet is a gas giant. Coincidence, or Post's sense of humor? 2028

No, the message is being recorded (per Avon). Jenna is just ticking off boxes, indicating how many times Blake has cheesed her off so far today. 2030
