Interesting that Peter Purves points how this premise was a fascinating dilemma for the character of the Doctor, because has to consciously go against his statement of not rewriting time; he has to in order to save their own lives.

But he only against rewriting the past.

He'll happily go around foiling the Dalek's invasion of the earth Wink

Glyn Jones original script continued the same ideas and tensions as part one; Dennis Spooner got rid of it all to make way for the 'adventure' plot with the rebellion.

A companion holding a gun, and William making Ian look quite comfortable holding it; one of those nice, even if unintentional, bits of character detail.

Apparently there was no direction on this story, absolutely none. The director said and contributed nothing to this, the actors were left to improvise the whole thing. They were really unhappy with that.

The costumes in this are not so bad, apart from Vicki's frock, but the make up is truly awful and spoils the whole illusion.
